Writer's Fright

tagged:

You know what stage fright is right?  Well for some reason lately I have had writer's fright I have just been nervous about it and I have just kept putting it off.  I can think of all these wonderful blog posts and they sound perfect, then when I sit down to write it comes out as a bunch of mush.  So here I go again, trying to do the best I can for today.

I have been extremely busy lately.  Hopefully you saw "The Loopy Loves Ewe" Valentines kits on The Loopy Ewe.  They did go pretty fast.  Keri of 3AM Enchantments, Wendy of Wendyknits and Jillian of WeeOnes all colaborated to create this great little kit.  It was a real labor of love, because we LUV the Loopy's.  I don't have a picture of the whole kit to share but I do have a picture of the sock I knit, Wendy's pattern my yarn.  Now I need to get the other one done, I have so many things going on and it seems like I never have enough time to knit lately so not real sure when it will ever get knitted.

I have been doing a lot of dyeing, a BIG re-stock at Loops.  I am going to have to make it to Tulsa soon and maybe spend a day at Loops, knitting.  Maybe I could get some knitting done there. LOL  Oh who am I kidding I go there sit on the comfy couch and end up talking and get very little knitting actually done.

Oh I hadn't gotten the chance or rather I haven't blogged recently and announced that I will be having my very first Trunk Show at Sealed with a Kiss (SWAK) in Guthrie OK and OKC on February 27th and 28th.  I will be at the Guthrie store from 5pm till 9pm on Friday and at the OKC store from 10am till 3pm on Saturday.  I am really looking forward to it and as a great big bonus, my sister and her family live in Guthrie so get to get in a little family visit too.  I have been dyeing like a mad woman trying to get ready for this event and I figured it's always better to have too much then too little.  If anyone has any special requests and will be in Guthrie or OKC let me know, now is the time to get in your requests.

I am also happy to report that the Tempted at 3AM yarn and bag club sold out in about 8 hours, Keri and I were both very excited but also a little sad that we couldn't make sure everyone got a spot.  Thank you all for the support!

OK so now for the biggest news!  (Well for me anyway) My incredible, loving, and really sweet and generous  hubby insisted that I go out and pick the perfect car for me.   So here it is Stacy's perfect car. LOL Anyone who knows me will not be surprised at all by the color or even the car itself.  The first car I ever bought was a '85 Charger and lets be honest the 80's were not nice to the muscle car, but I am very loyal.   If you get the itch google a 1985 Charger, not the prettiest of cars but I thought it was great at the time '89, wow that was a long time ago.

Big Week and it is only Tuesday

This has been a big week for 'Tempted'.  There is no order for these but I do have to admit that I am really excited to be in the "Loopy Limelight" and my yarn is in an ad for Loops in the Tulsa World's Sunday paper.  Pretty cool huh?

Not only that but I got to spend 6 hours in classes with Sally Melville.  I am very impressed with her and her methods of teaching and designing patterns.  She taught us how to make wonderful buttonholes in several different ways, perfect neckbands, and then how to modify and design patterns to fit exactly right.  She has a new book coming out with her daughter, which I am really looking forward to, but it won't be out till next March.  I think I will have to add that one to my preorders from Amazon, along with Wendy Johnson's new sock book.  Looks like 2009 might be a really good year for knitting!

This is some of the roving's that just went up on The Loopy Ewe.  I have really enjoyed working with this fiber it is so soft and as I told a friend today, I don't think you could make an ugly or wrong yarn with this it is so so good.  I have also done these two colors in the 'Good Grrl' yarn.  Elabeth at Stringtown Yarns has/had 2 skeins of each last week and I will be posting 2 skeins of each tomorrow on Etsy (I hope).  They are both posted in the Gallery if you want to check them out.

I just want to also say Thanks to all you Rhinebecker's (not sure if that is really a word) who called me this last weekend, it was so cool to get to be a part of all the fun.  Thanks guys!!

Party Time

I promised to keep the content coming so I could get caught up so here is my Party post!

Last Saturday night I got to go to the Fall 2008 Hot Loops Party.  This was my first opportunity to go to the Hot Loops party, it won't be my last!  I had such a wonderful time and loved getting to see some of the wonderful knitters from Tulsa.

We all started by getting to visit a little out in front of Loops waiting for the doors to open, loved it.  It was wonderful to just stand around and chat with all the great ladies that I rarely get to see.  Once we all got in the shop there was a mass migration to the new Hot Loops wall. Lots of amazing patterns and yummy yummy yarns.  The shopping was out of control, amazing what a great discount and being the first to see it will do to your willpower.

What made it very personal for me is that the Tempted Big Grrl made its debut.  It is being used in the 'Boomer Scarf'.  Super fast knit and a fun, chunky, hand painted yarn.  It was dyed in 3 colorways for the 3 big football teams in OK.  The great thing about the 3 colorways is that they are all very versatile.  'Boomer' is Crimson and Cream so even if you aren't a Sooner fan it is a great color combo.  'Go Pokes' is Orange and Black even people who are not Cowboy fans need a Halloween scarf for your night out trick or treating.  Finally 'Hurricane Warning' is Blue and Gold a fun, bright and happy yarn for almost anyone.  Great Christmas knitting hint hint.  Seriously it took me about 4 hrs to knit the scarf.

Shelley and Brent do an awesome job with the pics, doesn't hurt that Shelley has some very cute family members.  Thanks ya'll for making Tempted Big Grrl look so wonderful.

I mentioned Christmas gifts earlier and it made me think about a resent request that I got.  A young woman from Ravelry sent me a msg, she had made her mother some socks out of Good Grrl.  Her mother has diabetes and has very sensitive feet and these were the first socks her mom liked to wear.  She asked me to dye something for her mom for Christmas, I was overjoyed to get to dye something so special.  It is on it's way to her now.

If you are interested in something special for Christmas knitting now is the time to get those special requests in.  It is taking a few weeks to dye them now.  There is a list and first yell first dyed.  I am also excited to announce that we are trying to add a custom request page to the website sometime in the future.

Are you knitting for anyone for Christmas?  How do you decide who to knit for?  I would love to hear about YOU!!
